Free US–India Business Days Calculator

🇮🇳

Pick one date and instantly compare U.S. and India results side by side: total calendar days or working days excluding each country’s holidays.

What do you want to calculate?

Use the calendar picker, or type a date in YYYY-MM-DD format.

Leave blank to use today. Set this for “as of” questions.

Count type

Total calendar days are the same everywhere. Working days subtract weekends; U.S. and India also subtract their included holiday calendars.

Compare countries

You can compare any two countries. U.S. and India holiday calendars are included; other countries currently use weekday-only counts until their holiday calendars are added.

Plan a date across two countries

Cross-border teams often need more than a simple calendar countdown. A U.S. project manager, an India delivery team, and an external customer may all count the same deadline differently because their weekends and public holidays do not line up. This calculator provides a transparent planning estimate so you can discuss the date using the same assumptions.

What the results mean

Example planning question

Suppose a customer asks when an invoice or project handoff will be reached after a given date. Start with Days till, enter the target date, choose the reference date if you do not want to use today, and select Working days. Compare the two results before promising a delivery date. If the work must proceed in both countries, review the country with the smaller count and check the holidays manually.

Coverage and limitations

The U.S. calendar uses observed U.S. federal holidays. The India calendar uses national holidays plus a curated major-festival/public-holiday set for 2026–2030. India holidays can vary by state, employer, bank, religion, and local announcement. Other countries can be selected for weekday-only estimates, but their public holidays are not yet included. Always confirm a consequential deadline against the relevant employer, bank, government, or customer calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Does a working day mean my company is open?

No. The result is a planning estimate based on weekends and the selected holiday rules. Companies may close for floating holidays, regional observances, shutdowns, or internal events that are not included here.

Why are the U.S. and India results different?

Each country has its own weekends and holiday schedule. The difference is especially useful when coordinating a handoff, support window, invoice deadline, or service-level target across both locations.

Can I compare countries other than the United States and India?

Yes. The selector includes two countries, but holiday-aware calculations currently cover the United States and India. Other selections use weekdays only and clearly identify that limitation in the result.

Are the dates inclusive?

The calculator reports the elapsed date difference between the start and end points. For working-day planning, confirm whether your organization treats the start date, deadline date, or both as billable or available workdays.

Can I use this for payroll, legal, or contract deadlines?

Use it as a starting point, not as the sole source for a legal, payroll, tax, compliance, or contract decision. Verify the governing calendar and the exact counting convention with the responsible organization.
