How it works

The calculator counts dates across a half-open interval: from the start date up to, but not including, the end date. This matches standard date subtraction.

Calendar days

Calendar days are simple date differences. Weekends and holidays are included.

Working days

Working days exclude Saturdays and Sundays. Depending on the selected calendar, the tool also excludes holidays.

• U.S. federal holidays: observed U.S. federal holidays, including adjacent Friday/Monday observance for fixed-date holidays that fall on weekends.
• India major holiday mode: India national holidays plus a curated list of widely observed major festivals/public holidays for 2026–2030.
• Shared U.S.+India mode: a date counts as working only if it is not a weekend and not a holiday in either calendar.

Why results may differ from your company calendar

Companies may observe different days off, floating holidays, regional holidays, religious holidays, or local state holidays. For exact HR, payroll, legal, or SLA calculations, confirm against the official calendar for the relevant organization and jurisdiction.
